Bomb Threat Prompts Security Alert on Vistara Flight from Paris to Mumbai

“A security concern has been noted by our staff while onboard the airline’s flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on 2 June 2024,” the airline said in a statement issued after the occurrence. Following set procedures, Vistara stated, the airline notified the relevant authorities.

The airline had already experienced one security incident in a week when a bomb threat was made against a Vistara flight from Paris headed for Mumbai. Onboard, a handwritten letter referencing a bomb was discovered by the cabin crew on flight UK 024. In addition to 12 crew members, the airplane held 294 passengers.

This incident occurs two days following a bomb threat against Delhi-bound Vistara flight UK611. When Air Traffic Control (ATC) Srinagar got a menacing call, the alarm was sounded. Similar bomb threat was also issued to IndiGo flight 6E-5314 on May 1 from Chennai to Mumbai. May 28 had seen a threat to another IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi.
