New Delhi. The auction of the Women’s Premier League has been completed. A total of 120 players were bid, out of which only 19 players were bought. Out of these 19, there were only 4 players for whom bids of more than Rs 1 crore were received. Gujarat Giants spent Rs 1.90 crore on Mumbai player Simran Shaikh. He bought another player Deandra Dottin by paying an amount above Rs 1 crore.
Simran Shaikh was the most expensive player of the auction. India’s Simran Shaikh has been the most expensive player till date. He has been included by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.90 crore. Delhi had also bid on him for a long time but later backed out. Simran Shaikh is a player from the slums. She spent her childhood in the slums of Mumbai.
The second most expensive player of the auction was West Indies’ Deandra Doughton with a bid of Rs 1 crore 70 lakh. She has now joined the Gujarat team. There was a competition between Gujarat and UP Warriors to buy Diandra. The third most expensive player was G Kamalini. Kamalini has not played for India till date. She would like to make a place in the Indian team by performing well in the Premier League. Mumbai bought him for 1.60 crores.
RCB included Prema Rawat in the team by paying Rs 1.20 crore. Many teams also had their eyes on Prema. But in the end RCB won. These four players were the most expensive players of the auction. N Charnani was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 55 lakh. Apart from this, all the players have been sold for their base price of Rs 30 lakh or Rs 10 lakh. 3 players were sold for Rs 30 lakh.
