For which Indian captain Rohit Sharma is working hard on improving his skills in the white-ball format before the upcoming ODI series against England and Champions Trophy.
In a video posted on Instagram, 37-year-old Rohit was seen hitting shots, flicks, drives, high hits and pools during a practice session. Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar is looking good behind Rohit Sharma. After the disappointing tour of Australia, Rohit is practicing with Mumbai’s Ranji team. Mumbai has to play Jammu and Kashmir in Ranji match on 23rd January but it is not decided yet whether Rohit will play in it or not.
India has to play its first match in the Champions Trophy against Bangladesh in Dubai on 20th February. Before this, an ODI series has to be played against England from 6th February. Rohit could score only 31 runs in three Tests in Australia and was out of the fifth Test in Sydney due to poor form.
Selector’s eye on Virat-Rohit
On the Australia tour, Kohli could score only 190 runs with one century in nine innings and was repeatedly caught out on the ball going outside the off stump. Captain Rohit Sharma’s figures were worse here and he could score only 31 runs in five innings of three matches. After the poor performance of Virat Rohit, BCCI has also made a lot of changes in the rules.
