Snow storms have been wreaking havoc in many states of America for the past few days. According to news agency Reuters, till Tuesday, 5 people died in different accidents due to the storm, while more than 1.75 lakh people are living without electricity.
America’s National Weather Service has expressed the possibility of snowfall of up to 1 foot in the capital Washington. White House spokesperson said that President Joe Biden is monitoring the situation and is ready to provide all possible help to the affected states.
People’s problems have increased significantly due to the storm and hailstorm. Lakhs of people are facing difficulties in travelling. People are not able to go out even to buy their daily needs.
Due to the storm, an alert has been issued in 30 states. Earlier on Sunday, emergency was imposed in 7 states. About 6 crore people have been affected by this. According to media reports, this could be the worst snow storm in America in the last 10 years.

Tracking websites PowerOutage and FlightAware reported that 1.75 million people from Missouri to Virginia were without power as of Monday. More than 2400 flights have been cancelled.
Missouri’s state agency said that as of Sunday, more than 1,000 vehicles were stuck in the snow. Kentucky State Governor Andy Beshear has appealed to people to stay at home.
The National Weather Service has warned that hail and tornadoes may occur in the south-eastern states. At some places the temperature can reach minus 18 degrees Celsius. Scientists say that due to human activities the earth’s temperature is continuously increasing, due to which such extreme weather events are increasing.
