Shubman Gill became the vice captain of Team India.

Shubman Gill vice captain of Team India: India announced its 15-member team for the Champions Trophy on Saturday. The command of the team is in the hands of Rohit Sharma while Shubman Gill will handle the responsibility of vice captaincy. Champions Trophy will start from 19th February. The Indian team will start its campaign against Bangladesh on 20th February. After this, Team India has to face Pakistan on 23rd February. The Indian team has to play New Zealand in the last match of the group stage on March 2.

25-year-old Shubman Gill has played 32 Tests, 47 ODIs and 21 T20 International matches. He has scored 1893 runs in Tests while he has 2328 runs in his name in ODIs. Gill has scored 578 runs in T20 International. Shreyas Iyer played his last ODI against Sri Lanka in August 2024. After this he performed brilliantly in domestic cricket. Whose reward he has received. Right-handed batsman Shreyas can play an important role in India’s middle order.
