New Delhi. Samson Vishwanath, father of Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson, has made serious allegations against the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). He said that some officials of the Cricket Board are deliberately blocking his son’s opportunity to play. Sanju’s father has given his reaction on keeping him out of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 team. According to reports, Sanju’s decision to skip the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy edition went against him and he did not get a place in the Indian team.

Sanju Samson, who was a member of the ICC T20 World Cup winning team, captained Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year. He was not included in the Vijay Hazare Trophy team. KCA secretary and president had earlier said that Sanju was ignored as he did not attend the team’s three-day camp. According to Sanju’s father, it was already known that Sanju would not be selected for the tournament (Vijay Hazare Trophy). He accused KCA of having ill feelings against his son. He said that the decision to drop Sanju was taken much before the tournament.

Samson Vishwanath told Mathrubhumi.com, “There are some people in KCA who have something against my child. We have never said anything against the association before, but this time it is too much. Sanju was not the only one who did not participate in the camp; Still the remaining players were allowed to play. This is not about Jayesh George (KCA President) or Vinod (KCA Secretary); These are some small people who turn small things into poison.”

Recalling past incidents, he said that KCA had earlier denied his son a chance due to injury. He mentioned an incident when he had sought leave for his injured son. So the then KCA President was insulted by TC Mathew.
