The police arrested the accused on Sunday in the case of attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on January 16. His name is Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad and his age is 30 years. Locked the flat, yet the attacker ran away
Giving details, the police officer also said that the accused got scared on seeing Saif Ali Khan. According to the police, “The accused was shocked and attacked Khan with a knife in the back.” Later, Khan closed the flat thinking that the accused was trapped inside. Meanwhile, another officer claimed that Shehzad got time to escape because an investigating officer from Bandra police station took away the CCTV digital video recorder (DVR) of Khan’s building and it was not shared with the Mumbai Police Crime Branch. .
Earlier in the day, police said Shahzad was from Jhalokathi, also known as Jhalakathi, in southern Bangladesh. The accused told that he was in Mumbai for the last five months and during this time he did small jobs at many places including a ‘housekeeping agency’.
“The accused has been booked under Indian Justice Code sections 311 (theft or dacoity with intent to cause grievous hurt), 331 (4) (house breaking) and other offenses as well as provisions of the Passport Act,” the officer said. Is charged.

After being produced in Bandra court this afternoon, the accused was sent to police custody till January 24.
