New Delhi. Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Saturday (January 18) confirmed his availability for Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit also said that no player takes the domestic red ball tournament lightly. When Ranji Trophy resumes on January 23, it will play Jammu and Kashmir on Mumbai ground.
When asked about his availability for Ranji during a press conference, Rohit gave a positive answer. The Indian captain then said, “In the last 6-7 years, if you look at our calendar, we have not sat at home for 45 days during cricket. When IPL is over, you get time. Nothing happens after that. Our domestic season starts in October and runs till March. Players who are not playing in all formats can definitely play in domestic cricket.”
Rohit Sharma further said, “I have started playing Test cricket regularly from 2019, so you hardly get time. When you play international cricket regularly, you need rest. “Nobody takes it lightly.”
