PAK vs SA: Babar Azam played an inning of 81 runs, captain hit a century, hope of victory was raised

New Delhi. On the third day of the second test match being played between Pakistan and South Africa (Pakistan vs South Africa), with the help of Pakistan captain Shan Masood’s unbeaten century and his big partnership with Babar Azam, Pakistan won the second test cricket match against South Africa. On the third day on Sunday, after the follow-on, they made a solid start and scored 213 runs for one wicket.

Masood is playing till the third day after scoring 102 runs on 166 balls. He and Babar Azam (81 runs on 124 balls) started the innings and added 205 runs for the first wicket. Fast bowler Marco Janson dismissed Babar just before the end of the third day’s play. Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after playing an excellent inning of 81 runs. Khurram Shehzad has come to bat at number three. Who are still present at the crease.

However, Pakistan still needed 208 runs to avoid an innings defeat as the team was all out for 194 runs in the first innings in reply to South Africa’s 615 runs. Apart from Babar Azam (58) and Mohammad Rizwan (46), no other batsman could make any significant contribution in Pakistan’s first innings, due to which the team was forced to follow-on. If Pakistan wants to win the match from here, it will have to score maximum runs.

For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada took three wickets while Keshav Maharaj and Kwena Mafaka took two wickets each. By winning the first Test match, South Africa has secured a place in the final of the World Test Championship to be held at Lord’s in June, where it will face Australia. Pakistan was already out of the race for the final of the World Championship.
