Letter of Steve Jobs auctioned for Rs 4.32 crore he wanted to come to Kumbh


Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs was very fond of India and its culture. Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of late Steve Jobs, has reached Prayagraj in this Mahakumbh (Mahakumbh 2025). In Kumbh she has been named “Kamala”. Now a handwritten letter from Apple’s co-founder is in the news. According to the report, the letter written in 1974 mentions Steve Jobs’ plan to visit India to attend the Kumbh Mela. Recently this letter was auctioned for 5 lakh 312 dollars (about Rs 4.32 crore).

of ndtv Report According to , Steve Jobs wrote this letter addressed to childhood friend Tim Brown just a day before his 19th birthday. In the letter, Jobs shares his views on Jainism and talks about coming to India for the Kumbh Mela.

In the letter, Steve Jobs had written, ‘I want to go to India for the Kumbh Mela, which starts in April. I will go sometime in March, haven’t decided yet. ‘Peace’ is written at the end of the letter, which shows that Steve Jobs was greatly inspired by Hindu religion.

According to reports, Steve Jobs had earlier planned to visit Neem Karoli Baba’s ashram in Uttarakhand. On reaching Nainital, he came to know that Neem Karoli Baba had died. However, Jobs did not lose courage and stayed in the ashram at Kainchi Dham and got solace from the teachings of Neem Karoli Baba. He spent seven months in India and completely immersed himself in its culture and spirituality.

Steve Jobs had changed a lot upon returning to America. According to reports, even his parents could not recognize him. Jobs’s head was shaved. He was wearing Indian cotton clothes. His skin had become dark, chocolatey due to the sun.
