India squad for Champions Trophy: BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar announced the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. In a press conference held in Mumbai on Saturday in the presence of captain Rohit Sharma, Agarkar informed about the 15 players selected in the team. Ajit Agarkar put the seal of captaincy on Rohit’s name. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul along with young Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant got a place in the batting line up. Despite injuries in bowling, Bumrah, Shami and Kuldeep Yadav were included. Of these three, only Shami has returned fully fit while the other two are under the supervision of the BCCI medical team.
Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been dropped from the team considering the workload and recent performance. Left arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has got a chance in place of Siraj. Bumrah has not got a place in the team for the ODI series against England. Young pacer Harshit Rana will play in his place. According to Agarkar, Shami has been selected in the team for the Champions Trophy. The Chief Selector says that Bumrah is on his way to becoming fit.

Sanju Samson did not get a chance
Sanju Samson also did not get a place in the Champions Trophy team. However, this is not surprising because he is not a part of the ODI team from 2024. He did not even play for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2024-25. Samson did not even find a place in the list of reserve players.
