He had control over 90% of the world’s currency-printing business.

Roberto Giori was returning from Kathmandu after a holiday with his partner Cristina Calabresi. He was then the owner of the world’s largest note printing company. His company used to print currency notes of more than 70 countries. It is believed that this VIP passenger played a very big role in creating international pressure on India during the talks. He too had gone through a bad time for 8 days along with other passengers in this plane. The terrorists had no idea about who he was and how big a man he was.

After eight days, India accepted the demands of the terrorists and released three terrorists – Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, Masood Azhar and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar – in exchange for the hostage passengers. Masood Azhar, one of the released terrorists, later formed Jaish-e-Mohammed, a terrorist organization. Masood Azhar is the mastermind of the 2019 Pulwama attack.
