Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev criticized Russia for hiding the truth about the plane crash.
The Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed on December 25. 38 people died in this. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev had held Russia responsible for this accident. However, now Russia has promised Azerbaijan that it will definitely punish those responsible for the plane crash.
Azerbaijan’s Advocate General informed on Monday that Russia’s investigative agency has promised him that the culprits will be punished.
The Advocate General said-
We can clearly say that the plane was shot down by Russia. Although we are not saying that Russia has done this intentionally, but it is certain that they are involved in this.
Earlier, Russia had apologized to Azerbaijan for the plane crash but did not accept that their air defense missile was the cause of the crash.
Azerbaijan angry with Russia even after Putin’s apology President Aliyev accused Russia of covering up the matter. He said that Russia kept the matter under wraps for a long time and now Russian officials are trying to cover up this entire incident.
Aliyev has made three demands from Russia regarding the Azerbaijan plane crash. He said-
First of all, the Russian side should apologize to Azerbaijan. Second, he should accept his mistake. Third, along with punishing the culprits, Russia should compensate the Azerbaijani government, the families of the deceased and the injured passengers.
Aliyev said the first demand “has already been fulfilled” because Putin has apologized, but the other two demands still remain. Earlier, Putin had described the accident as a ‘tragic incident’.
Why was Russia accused of crashing the plane?
Russian military blogger Yuri Podolnyaka told news agency AFP that the holes seen in the plane’s wreckage could have been caused by an anti-aircraft missile system. He said the damage suggests the plane may have accidentally hit an air defense missile system.
Defense expert James J Marlow wrote on social media that he had received information that Russian defense systems were intercepting Ukrainian drones in Grozny when this incident occurred. If this is true then it is possible that the defense system might have considered the plane to be a drone and attacked it by mistake.
After the crash, several holes were visible in a piece of the plane. After which the possibility of firing was raised.
Earlier theories regarding plane crash…
1. Oxygen cylinder burst due to bird collision: According to media reports, when the plane collided with a bird, its oxygen cylinder exploded, causing the plane to crash. However, even then questions were being raised about these theories. Actually, in the footage related to this, fire was seen in the plane only after the crash. Before that no fire or smoke was visible.
2. Technical failure: Kazakhstan officials had said that they are also investigating the crash from the angle of some technical faults.
