According to media reports, the news of Obama couple’s divorce got strengthened when news of Michelle not attending the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President Donald Trump on Monday (January 20) came to light.

Michelle’s office said on Tuesday (January 14), “Former President Barack Obama has been confirmed to attend the 60th swearing-in ceremony. “Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming swearing-in ceremony.” The statement did not explain why she would not attend the swearing-in ceremony, which is traditionally attended by former presidents and their spouses.

This is the second high-profile event in recent weeks that Michelle Obama declined to attend. Last week, Michelle did not attend the funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter with her husband Barack.
