Los Angeles: The fire in the forests of Los Angeles, California has caused massive devastation. Thousands of families have had to flee to save their lives. The fire has turned hundreds of houses into ashes. It has become difficult for insurance companies also. Because they will have to pay claims worth billions of dollars. The fire did not spare anyone in front of it. Houses of film stars and celebrities have also been burnt due to the fire. But during this time one house is in the news the most. A mansion worth 90 lakh dollars (77.8 crore rupees) has been saved in this devastation. While everything around him has been burnt to ashes. Let us understand how this miracle happened?

According to the New York Post report, the owner of this house is 64-year-old retired waste management executive David Steiner. This house is in Malibu. When he came to know that his house had survived the fire, he could not believe his eyes. Speaking to The New York Post, Steiner admitted that he was stunned to see that his three-story home was still standing in place after the smoke cleared. Steiner was sent a video by a local contractor, showing flames and smoke near his home. After watching this video, he feared that his house would also be destroyed.

More than 10,000 structures were destroyed due to the fire. When the flames finally subsided, Steiner’s mansion stood amidst the ashes of houses worth crores. After this, he started getting messages from people continuously that his house was in the news. Even amidst the devastation, nothing happened to his house, pictures of which went viral on social media. Steiner said that this is nothing less than a miracle. He said that he had a smile on his face after hearing this news in a bad time.

How was the building saved?
According to David Steiner, the reason for the survival of his property is its extremely strong construction. It was built to protect against earthquakes, perhaps that is why it survived. Regarding his property, he said that it has plaster and stones with a fire proof roof. He also said that the structure is supported through pilings which go 50 feet deep into the ground. It stabilizes the powerful waves hitting the sea. Steiner admitted that he never thought that a wildfire could be dangerous to his home. He said, ‘I thought that if ever an earthquake occurs, it will save us.’ Despite saving his home, Steiner expressed sympathy for those who suffered greater losses.
