Washington DC. Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. On this occasion, a grand inauguration ceremony will be organized in the Capitol complex.

Trump’s inauguration will take place in the same US Capitol where he made a powerful political comeback in November. This is the same place where his supporters attacked him four years ago after the 2020 election defeat.

Trump’s return as US President is also rare in American history. He is only the second President in the history of America who lost the election and won again after coming to power. The first president to do so was Grover Cleveland, who did so in the late 1800s.

During Trump’s first term, many new things happened and many traditions were broken, some of which had become part of American democracy. In 2020, Trump expressed confidence that he had won the election and not Democrat Biden, and he skipped Biden’s inauguration, becoming the first former president in 150 years to do so.

Why is there a difference of so many days between US elections and swearing in?
In America, elections for the post of President are held in November and the results become clear immediately after the voting. Formally, the current President invites the President-elect to the White House to congratulate him on winning the election and to discuss the smooth and effective transfer of power.

In America, swearing-in ceremonies take place according to tradition. According to the constitutional amendment of 1933, the oath of office takes place on January 20 (or January 21 if the 20th falls on a Sunday), and the official oath is administered in the afternoon. According to American rules, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court administers the oath to the new President. In such a situation, on Monday, John Roberts will administer the oath for Trump for the second time.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place inside the US Capitol.
The swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President Donald Trump will be held inside the US Capitol on Monday. One reason for this is the severe cold that is occurring across America these days. This is the first time in 40 years that the US Presidential Inauguration Ceremony has been moved indoor.

Trump said on his Truth social platform on Friday, ‘There is an outbreak of arctic cold in the country. I don’t want people to get hurt in any way. Therefore, I have ordered the inaugural address, prayers and other speeches to be delivered in the US Capitol Rotunda.

The last time in 1985, during the second inauguration of former Republican President Ronald Reagan, the inauguration ceremony was held in a closed room instead of an open field due to extreme cold. Then the afternoon temperature also fell to minus 10 to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 23 to minus 29 degrees Celsius).

First JD Vance will take oath
Vice President-elect JD Vance will take oath first, followed by Trump. After this he will again give his inaugural speech, in which he will reveal his plans for the next four years. Later, in the President’s Room, Trump will meet with his aides and members of Congress and sign nominations, proclamations or executive orders.

Who will attend Trump’s swearing-in?
Trump has invited stalwarts from the tech world for his swearing-in. Billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg will attend this program. TikTok chief Shau Chiew will also be present.

Apart from this, outgoing President Joe Biden, former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama will attend the event along with their wives. Hillary Clinton and Vice President Kamala Harris, to whom Trump lost the election, will also be present.

Among foreign leaders, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Hungary’s Viktor Orban and Argentina’s President Javier Milli have been invited. An invitation has also been sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping, but his presence has not been confirmed. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will participate from the Indian side. Apart from this, Donald Trump has given a special invitation to Reliance Industries CMD Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani for his swearing-in ceremony.
