In the coming time, the trend of jobs in India and the world is going to change rapidly. According to the World Economic Forum i.e. WEF’s ‘Future Jobs Report’ 2025, the demand for jobs in some sectors will increase in the next 5 years, while some job roles may disappear completely.
This report has been released before the annual meeting of WEF to be held from 20 to 25 January in Davos, Switzerland. The figures of the report clearly indicate that technological changes and new technologies will completely change the current shape of jobs.
According to WEF report
-17 crore new jobs will be created worldwide by 2030
-However, 9.2 crore people may have to lose their jobs in the next 5 years.
-A total of 7.8 crore new employment opportunities are expected to be created in the coming 5 years.
It has also been told in the report that these changes will be seen in jobs due to the growth of technology, population change and geo-economic tension. According to the report, agriculture sector will generate maximum employment opportunities in the coming years which will include agricultural laborers and other workers. Apart from this, demand for light truck or delivery drivers, software and application developers, salespeople, nursing professionals and secondary school teachers will also increase.
But there are some jobs whose demand will decrease rapidly in the coming time. These fastest declining jobs include
-Cashier and Ticket Clerk
-Administrative Assistant
-Executive Secretary
-cleaner
-Printing workers
It has also been told in this report that there will be a big change in the skills required for the job.
According to WEF
-Change in about 40 percent skills is certain
-At the same time, 63 percent companies are already seeing it as a big challenge.
According to this study, skill gap still remains the biggest problem for companies and industries. To fill this, companies will have to emphasize on training and skill development of their employees. Although new technology and employment opportunities raise hopes, the decline in traditional jobs has also raised concerns. In such a situation, it remains to be seen how governments and companies deal with these changes.
