For the last many years, there has been a discussion on whether Dayaben i.e. Disha Vakani will return to the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah or not. The show’s producer Asit Modi has talked about this issue in a recent interview. He said that he wants Disha to return to the show. However, he now does not think that the actress will return to the show.
Asit Modi also told that auditions are going on for the role of Dayaben. If any actress gets finalized, they will welcome her.
Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in September 2017. Since then he has not returned to the show.
‘It is very important to bring Dayaben back in the show’
While talking to News 18 Shosha, Asit Modi said- It is very important to bring Dayaben back because I also miss her. Sometimes circumstances change in such a way that some things get done and get delayed. Sometimes the story becomes long. Sometimes some big incidents happen. There were elections in 2024, there was IPL and then World Cup matches, rainy season. Due to some reasons it gets delayed.
Asit Modi said- I think Disha will not return to the show
The producer further said- I am still trying. Although I think Disha Vakani may not come back to the show. they have two children. She is like my sister. Even today we have a very close relationship with his family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied Rakhi to me. His father and brother are also family to me.
‘It’s fine if Disha comes back, otherwise another mercy will have to be brought.’
Asit Modi said- Now it is difficult for him to return to the show. Life changes for women after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is a bit difficult. But I am still positive. Somewhere I feel that God will do a miracle and she will come back. If she comes, it will be a good thing. If for some reason she doesn’t come, I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show.
