This brilliant performance of Bumrah was seen in the ongoing Test series against Australia, in which he bowled brilliantly and sent many Australian batsmen to the pavilion.
Jasprit Bumrah has topped the ICC Test rankings with 907 rating points. With the help of this performance, he has created a new record in the history of Indian cricket. Bumrah is now tied with former England spinner Derek Underwood at 17th place in the all-time list. Bumrah has also left behind his former teammate R Ashwin. Has been selected for this year’s ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year award.
Great performance against Australia
- Bumrah tried his best to lead Team India to an important victory by taking 30 wickets in four Test matches against Australia, although the team had to face defeat in two matches in this series. He bowled brilliantly in the fourth test match.
- He completed his 200 wickets in Test cricket. Bumrah has achieved this record the fastest among Indian fast bowlers. He has achieved this feat in the 44th test match. Earlier, Kapil Dev had achieved this record in 50 test matches.
Bumrah’s unmatched performance
Bumrah took 200 wickets in 8484 balls during his bowling. Bumrah also left behind big names like Pakistan’s Waqar Younis, South Africa’s Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada. During this period, he took wickets at an average of 19.56, which is the lowest among bowlers. This further explains his excellent performance.
New record leaving Kapil Dev behind
Bumrah broke Kapil Dev’s record during the Test series against Australia. Bumrah has made the record of taking most wickets as a fast bowler in the Test series.
