Bangladesh has called the Pakistan Army team for training its soldiers. 53 years after the crushing defeat in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, the Pakistani Army will once again set foot on the land of Bangladesh. A special team under the leadership of a Major General rank officer of Pak Army will train the Bangladeshi Army.

According to reports, this training will start in February next year. The first phase of training will be held at Army Training and Doctrine Command (ATDC) Headquarters in Memenshahi Cantt. This first phase of training will last for one year. After this, PAK Army will also provide training in all the 10 commands of Bangladesh Army.

For training, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Committee of Pakistan Army, had sent a proposal for training to Bangladesh in November. This proposal was accepted by Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman. After this, General Waqar has given a formal invitation to Pakistan Army for training.

After Sheikh Hasina left the country, it was Army Chief Waqar who formed the Yunus government.

Ammunition ordered from Pakistan, will participate in the exercise

Bangladesh has ordered two consignments of ammunition from Pakistan. Between September and December, Bangladesh has ordered 40 thousand rounds of ammunition. This is three times compared to last year. Last year these were 12 thousand rounds. Apart from this, 2 thousand rounds of tank ammunition and 40 tonnes of RDX have also been ordered.

Bangladesh Navy will conduct naval exercises with Pakistan at Karachi Port in February next year. This joint exercise has been named Aman-2025. Pakistan organizes this exercise every 2 years.

Bangladesh is participating in this exercise after 15 years. Bangladesh did not participate in it during the entire tenure of Sheikh Hasina. In 2022, Sheikh Hasina did not even give permission to Pakistan’s warship Taimur to stop in Chittagong. Due to this, Taimur had to anchor at Kyaukphu Port in Myanmar to take fuel.

Impact on India due to coming together of Pakistan-Bangladesh

According to defense expert Qamar Aga of West Asia Policy Centre, the increasing closeness of Bangladesh and Pakistan may increase the threat to India’s 80 km wide Siliguri Corridor (Chicken Neck). This corridor connects the north-eastern states of India with the rest of the country. After Pakistan’s entry in Bangladesh, there is a possibility of fundamentalist groups of North-East becoming more dominant.

On the other hand, the geopolitical location of Bangladesh is very important. Bhutan’s Doklam is also near the Chicken Neck Corridor. China wants to capture it. After the entry of Yunus government in Bangladesh and now Pak Army, conditions are favorable for China.

Qamar Aga told that,

Pro-Pak forces have always been dominant in Bangladesh. The difference is that during the 15-year rule of Sheikh Hasina, they were controlled, but Bangladesh Army Chief Waqar along with Pakistan Army and other forces conspired against Hasina. On August 5, there was no people’s revolution, but the army carried out a coup with a big plan.
