In fact, recently fraud has been exposed in Mahtari Vandan, a government scheme run by the government for women in Chhattisgarh. You will be surprised to know that under this scheme in Bastar district, Rs 1000 was being deposited every month in an account in the name of Sunny Leone. Earlier, a similar case had come to light in Bihar also. At present a case has been registered against the accused.
Fraud in government scheme in the name of Sunny Leone
Let us tell you that according to media reports, this fraud was exposed in Talur village located in Bastar area of Chhattisgarh. A person fraudulently used Sunny’s name to avail the benefits of the scheme. The accused had used the name of adult film actor Johnny Sins as Sunny Leone’s husband. Under this scheme, money is transferred by the government only to married women. Police have registered a case against a person named Virendra Joshi on charges of fraud. The police have also seized his account.
How was the fraud exposed?
Let us tell you that Mahtari Vandan Yojana was started by the BJP government. The fraud related to the scheme came to light after an RTI was filed, after which the website of Mahtari Vandan Yojana was scanned, due to which the details of a beneficiary registered as Sunny Leone and her husband as Johnny Sins were filtered.
To become a beneficiary of the scheme, documents were obtained from the fraudster at the Anganwadi level of Bastar district. The file was “verified” by the Anganwadi and another supervisor. It also said that the person had received beneficiary amount for ten months from March to December.
What did Bastar Collector say?
Regarding the matter, Bastar Collector S. Harish told that to investigate this entire fraud, Bastar Collector formed a joint team of District Officers of Women and Child Development Department and Bastar Tehsildar and this team reached Talur village and investigated the entire matter. The Collector said that Anganwadi worker Vedmati Kashyap is also being interrogated by the investigation team. If found guilty in the investigation, a case will be registered against Virendra Joshi and the Anganwadi worker. Besides, the entire installment amount of Mahtari Vandan Yojana will also be recovered by holding the account of Virendra Joshi.
