Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has made a big revelation before the new season. He wants to leave the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the next season. Let us tell you that Rajasthan Royals had retained six players, after which they were left with a minimum of Rs 41 crore in their purse. Among these six players, he retained captain Sanju Samson for Rs 18 crore, Yashasvi Jaiswal for Rs 18 crore, Riyan Parag for Rs 14 crore, Dhruv Jurail for Rs 14 crore, while Shimron Hetmyer for Rs 11 crore and Sandeep Sharma for Rs 4 crore.
Sanju Samson has been carrying out the responsibility of captaincy as well as wicket-keeping for Rajasthan for many years. But now he wants to give this responsibility to the team’s young wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel. While talking with AB de Villiers on YouTube channel, Sanju said that he will leave the responsibility of wicketkeeping in IPL 2025. He said that Dhruv Jurel, who currently plays the role of wicketkeeper in Tests for India, will take up this responsibility as it is important for his development. He said, ‘I have not said this on air, but we feel that Dhruv is at this stage of his career as a Test wicketkeeper and he needs wicketkeeping in Apple. This was discussed and I think we will share the responsibility of wicketkeeping.
On his fielding, Sanju said, ‘I have never captained as a fielder and it can be challenging. I have told him that Dhruv, I understand the situation you are coming from and I think you should also do wicketkeeping for some matches.
