Moscow. Donald Trump has once again won a landslide victory in the US Presidential elections. For this he is receiving congratulations from leaders of many countries around the world. But Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear that he is not going to congratulate Donald Trump right now. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not planning to congratulate Donald Trump. Former US President Trump is on his way to getting a second term in the Oval Office. Even though Trump has won, his swearing-in ceremony will take place in January.
Before Donald Trump takes oath, Joe Biden will continue to serve as President. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media that ‘I am not aware of any plans of President Putin to congratulate Trump. We should not forget that we are talking about an unfriendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our country. Moscow has designated dozens of countries as ‘unfriendly’, those considered hostile to Russia’s interests. This includes imposing economic sanctions and supporting Ukraine as it engages itself against Russia.
America instigated conflict in Ukraine
Referring to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Peskov said that ‘America promotes this conflict and takes part in it. America is capable of changing this foreign policy. Whether this will be done or not and how it will be done, you and I will see after Trump is sworn in in January. Peskov said Kremlin leaders are open to establishing contacts with Trump. Peskov said that officials in Russia should not be asked to take the first step towards establishing contacts.

During his election campaign, Trump criticized US President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Ukraine. Trump claimed that if he were still in office, Russia would never have launched a full-scale attack. Claiming his good relationship with both Putin and Zelensky, Trump promised to end the war in Ukraine before taking office if elected for a second term.
