Recently in India, PM Narendra Modi’s government had given a big New Year gift to the government employees by constituting the Eighth Pay Commission. But, on the other hand, on the very first day of becoming the President of America, Donald Trump became bent upon cutting the feathers of government employees. He has signed all the files as soon as he assumed office. The first file in this is related to America’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement. This clearly indicates that the Earth is being destroyed due to climate change. America is not going to do anything special for this. In another order, Trump aims to establish control over federal employees. The purpose of these orders is to stop many orders passed by the Joe Biden administration.
Trump signed an executive order ordering federal employees to work in the office five days a week. This step was taken as part of Trump’s promise to end the culture of work from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. During a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida last month, Trump said he planned to fire federal employees who do not comply with the order.
federal hiring freeze
Apart from this, Trump ordered a ban on federal recruitment in the decision of the first day. This decision was taken during Trump’s first term itself so that the number of government employees would be reduced. This order stops recruitment on new and many open posts, but exemption has been given for posts related to national security, public security and military. It is not yet clear how long the ban on new hiring will last, but the move is in opposition to the Biden administration, which had taken steps to increase the number of federal employees and increase their salaries.
Donald Trump also signed another executive order, under which America will again withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. In this agreement, a target has been set to limit the rise in global temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This step is a repeat of the step taken by Trump in 2017, when he pulled the US out of the agreement.
Apart from this, Trump issued another order, in which Biden’s decision to list Cuba as a sponsor of terrorism was reversed. Biden had recently decided to exclude Cuba from this list, which was linked to the release of political prisoners with the help of the Catholic Church.
Trump also signed another order that will block new federal rules implemented by the Biden administration, placing a temporary halt on their implementation. This step is a common step taken under the new administration, but it is being considered as an action against the federal overreach implemented by the Biden administration.
