After this match, the points (PCT) of both the teams have decreased in the WTC points table. After this match, India and Australia are tied at 1-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series.
The India-Australia series is very important from the point of view of the World Test Championship (WTC). There is a change in the WTC point table after every match. A win or loss changes the ranking of the teams. Neither team won nor lost in the India-Australia match. Due to this, there has not been much change in the point table. Both the teams are maintaining their previous ranking. However, the marks of both have definitely reduced.

Apart from South Africa, Australia and India, now only Sri Lanka is in the race for the WTC final. Sri Lanka is at fifth position with 45.45 points. But he still has to play a 2-match home series against Australia. If Sri Lanka wins both the matches of this series then it will get 53.85 points.

New Zealand (48.21) had defeated England by 423 runs a day earlier. Due to this victory, the Kiwi team has moved from fifth to fourth position. But no team can play the final with such low points.
