Why is there no sunroof in Toyota Fortuner? Know the reason

New Delhi. Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular cars in India’s car market. Even though a large section of customers cannot afford it, but everyone is curious about this car. There is often a question about this car that there are so many features present in this car, so why not get sunroof in it.

There has been a huge change in cars in recent times, companies are trying to improve cabin experience. Amidst all this popularity, sunroof has become a standard or optional feature in cars priced more than Rs 10 lakh, especially in new models. So what is the reason why there is no sunroof in Toyota Fortuner worth 60 lakh rupees?

The price will increase
One reason may be that the price of the car increases due to the involvement of sunroof. Fortuner, in itself, is already a premium SUV, and perhaps Toyota does not want to make it more expensive.

Challenges in 7-seater layout
Fortuner also comes in 7-seater layouts, and the option of sunroof in this configuration does not seem very practical. It can hit the head of the third roy passengers with the roof.

According to Toyota, this sunroof is not in line with Indian climatic conditions. The problem is that high temperature in India is going up to 40 degrees Celsius – which makes sunroof ineffective in these circumstances. Sunroof also increases the weight of the AC system.

It is not as important for the Indian market buyer to have sunroof in the SUV. So, perhaps Toyota has focused on other features more important for Indian customers, such as adding infotainment systems or compartments. This is the reason why the company does not provide the feature of sunroof in Toyota Fortuner.
