Later it was found out that this is not a normal paper, but the oldest copy of the Constitution of America. Its price has been set in millions in the auction. In 2021, one such copy was auctioned for Rs 362 crore.

According to AP’s report, Samuel Johnston used to live in this house. He was the governor of North Carolina from 1787 to 1789. In the last months of his tenure, a conference was held in North Carolina, in which the American Constitution was approved. From here the Constitution was sent to the American Congress. Charles Thomson, the secretary of the American Congress at that time, had 100 copies of the Constitution printed. Only 8 of these are present in America at present. 2 copies each were sent to 13 states, which had Charles Thomson’s signature. One of these copies was found in Samuel Johnston’s house.

237 year old document
Seth Kaller, who collected the historical document, said, it is in such a good condition that it is not difficult to keep it. It has just a few folds and small stains. Even though it is a 237-year-old document, it is still very good. Kaller said, ever since I got this document, I have been getting calls from people every week. People think that perhaps the things that were announced about the Declaration of Independence are written in it. Some people even offer us money for it. But its price is much more than this. Because this document also has a letter from George Washington, in which he has talked about the approval of the Constitution.

Then one copy was sold for Rs 362 crore
Auctioneer Andrew Brunk said, this is a historical document. It contains the preamble of our Constitution. The moment when our Constitution was decided is captured. We have set its starting price at one million. But I think it will sell for millions of millions. In 1891, a copy of this was sold for $ 400. In 2021, Sotheby’s of New York sold a similar copy for $ 43.2 million i.e. Rs 362 crore. This is a record for auction in any document.
