In the US, the Trump government has intensified the process of denying illegal immigrants. In this sequence, Indian illegal immigrants are also being sent. According to news agency Reuters, the C-17 transport aircraft of US Air Force on Monday flew to Amritsar in India with illegal immigrants.
There are 205 people aboard this aircraft. All these have been identified. India was also involved in this entire process. The aircraft will take at least 24 hours to reach India. The aircraft did not even say time to fly.
Indeed, Trump promised to do the largest submission in the history of America. After this, Immigration and Customs Information (ICE) prepared a list of 1.5 million illegal immigrants, including 18,000 Indians.
1700 illegal NRIs in custody in the first 11 days of Trump
In the first 11 days of Trump’s power, more than 25 thousand illegal immigrants were taken into custody. Trump’s Ice Team (Immigration and Custom Information) raided 12 states.
According to reports, most of the raids have taken place in the Republican states. Of these, 1700 illegal non -resident Indians were detained.
During this period, the incidence of infiltration from the Mexico border has occurred up to 94%. During Biden’s tenure, an average of 2087 incidents of infiltration occurred every day between January 1 and January 19 this year, while the figure came to 126 from January 20 to January 31 after Trump took power.
7.25 lakh illegal Indian immigrants in America
According to data from Pew Research Center, about 7.25 lakh illegal Indian immigrants live in the US. This figure is the third largest number of illegal migrants. The first place is Mexico and the second on Al Salvador.
Last month, the Government of India said that India has always been ready to withdraw Indian citizens living in America illegally. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had said that India is investigating how many Indians are living illegally in the US and can be sent back or not.
However, he also said that the exact number of such people could not be ascertained yet.
Migrants from Guatemala, Peru and Honduras were also sent
The US Ministry of Defense Pentagon has started helping military aircraft to send more than 5 thousand illegal immigrants detained in Texas’s L Paso and California’s San Diego to their countries. So far, migrants from Guatemala, Peru and Honduras have been sent back from the US through military aircraft.
