Ayodhya Development Authority has started a new scheme ‘Ek Diya in the name of Lord Shri Ram’, through which Ram devotees from far away places will also be able to participate in this grand event. This time, preparations are going on in full swing to make the festival of lights to be held after the consecration of Ramlala in Ayodhya on 30th October, a grand one. The government wants that Ram devotees living away from Ayodhya can also be a part of this special occasion. Keeping this in mind, ‘Ek Diya in the name of Lord Shri Ram’ scheme has been started. The online Deepdan scheme was also started last year, but this time it is likely to be expanded further. The responsibility of preparing Prasad has been given to Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, which will provide new employment opportunities to women. Ayodhya Development Authority Vice Chairman Ashwani Kumar Pandey said that under this scheme, devotees sitting in the country and abroad can donate as per their devotion.
Vigorous preparations for the grand festival of lights
To make this year’s Deepotsav historic, a total of 22 committees have been formed, which will perform various responsibilities to make this event a success. There is a preparation to create a world record by lighting 25 lakh lamps at Saryu Ghat, for which 28 lakh lamps will be laid on the ghat. These committees include major committees like coordination, security, discipline, traffic, cleanliness, lamp count, material distribution, and photography.
