New Delhi. There is a huge demand for compact SUVs among car customers in India. People are preferring to buy vehicles in the compact SUV segment instead of investing in a small hatchback. This can be gauged from the fact that in the first six months of 2024, the share of SUV vehicles alone was 52%. Let us tell you that during this period, Tata Punch, a car in the compact SUV segment, secured the first position. In the first six months of the year, the total sales of Punch stood at 1,10,308 units. Whereas in the same month last year, the sales of Punch were only 67,117 units.

Hyundai Creta secured the second position in SUV sales. Hyundai Creta sold 91,348 units during this period with an annual growth of 10.64 percent. Whereas exactly 1 year ago during this period, Hyundai Creta sold 82,566 units of SUVs.

Brezza and Francox also showed their magic
Maruti Suzuki Brezza was at number three in this sales list. Maruti Brezza achieved a total sale of 90,135 units during this period with an annual growth of 9.68 percent. While Mahindra Scorpio was at number four in this sales list. Mahindra Scorpio sold a total of 85,326 units during this period with an annual growth of 63.97 percent.

Apart from this, Tata Nexon was at the fifth position in this sales list. Tata Nexon sold a total of 80,326 units during this period with an annual decline of 8.20 percent. While Maruti Suzuki Fronx was at the sixth position in this sales list. Maruti Suzuki Fronx achieved a total sale of 76,997 units during this period with an annual growth of 189.05 percent.

How was the performance of Grand Vitara?
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has secured the seventh position in this sales list. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara sold a total of 62,738 units during this period with an annual growth of 14.08 percent, while Hyundai Venue was at the eighth position in this sales list. Hyundai Venue sold a total of 58,715 units with an annual decline of 6.68 percent.

Apart from this, Mahindra Bolero was at the ninth position in this sales list. A total of 55,352 units of Mahindra Bolero SUV were sold. While Kia Sonet was at the tenth position in this sales list. Kia Sonet has achieved a total sale of 54,322 units of SUVs during this period with an annual growth of 0.35 percent.
