The time has come for the players to take responsibility… Captain’s order after the defeat to India, told where the mistake happened

New Delhi. After Shubman Gill’s half-century innings, India won the third T20 match by 23 runs on the basis of Washington Sundar’s excellent bowling. Zimbabwe’s team has lost the second consecutive T20 match and is trailing 1-2 in the 5-match series. After this defeat, the host team’s captain Sikandar Raza told where his team went wrong. Raza said that I am proud of my fielding but something went wrong in it today. He said that now the time has come for fellow players to take responsibility, in which I am also included. Chasing the target of 183 runs set by India, Zimbabwe’s team could score only 159 runs. Raza failed in batting while in bowling he took 2 wickets which included the wickets of dangerous batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma.

After losing the third T20 match against India, Sikandar Raza said, ‘I think once again it is a matter of fielding. We are proud of our fielding but today this fielding went wrong. We gave 20 runs extra and lost by 23 runs. Our top order still has problems, but I hope they can perform well at any time. In the last few years, we have tried 15 players in the top.’

Myers scored an unbeaten 65
For Zimbabwe, Dion Myers (65 not out) hit the first half-century of his career but could not lead Zimbabwe to victory. After Zimbabwe’s very poor start, he also shared an unbeaten partnership of 77 runs for the sixth wicket with Clive Madande (37) and 43 runs in 21 balls for the seventh wicket with Wellington Masakadza (18 not out).

‘Young people’s mistakes are acceptable’
Sikandar Raza said, ‘Now the time has come that all the players including me should take responsibility. If young players make mistakes then it is acceptable. But the seniors will have to come forward and take responsibility. That is why we have selected three openers. The openers who have been selected should be given a chance.’ The Zimbabwe team will play to save the series on 13 July.
