A school teacher from the US state of Tennessee has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping a 12-year-old boy in her home. According to a report in the New York Post, Alyssa McCammon, a fourth-grade teacher in Tipton County, was pregnant by the 12-year-old student she raped.

McCammon is being accused of having physical relations with 21 of his students. However, he has confessed to the crimes committed against five students. Circuit Court Judge Blake Neal sentenced McCammon to 25 years in prison on all five counts. All these sentences will run together, in which he will not even be given parole.

McCammon will have to register as a violent sex offender after her sentence and will be restricted from contacting any of her victims. Additionally, his teaching license has also been permanently revoked.

Local American news outlet WREG reported that the accused teacher first befriended the students’ mothers, then followed those students on social media and lured them into his trap on the pretext of playing video games. According to the report, she had become so crazy about the 12 year old student that she called him more than 200 times in one go. During this, she also threatened that if she broke her relationship with him, she would kill herself.

According to Tipton County District Attorney Mark Davidson, he was arrested in September 2023 after 23 counts of sexual crimes against multiple students were revealed. McCammon was granted bail, but less than a month later she tried to speak with a student victim. For this reason he was arrested again.

McCammon, a mother of two, allegedly told one of the victim boys that she was pregnant with his child. One of her calls was also played in court, in which McCammon was heard saying that she was waiting to bring the child into the world. After this, DNA test revealed that the boy is the father of that child. The court has handed over the custody of the child to the mother of the victim student.
