Chhattisgarh teenager detained for making false bomb threat

Airline bomb hoax: Mumbai Police has detained a teenager from Chhattisgarh for making false bomb threats on three flights. At least 19 flights received false bomb threats over the course of three days, disrupting some flights.

Police said that complaints of bomb threats on some flights were received on social media. Investigation revealed that a minor boy from Chhattisgarh was behind these posts. He has been taken into custody and a notice has been issued to his parents and handed over to the Juvenile Justice Board.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the boy and his friend had a dispute over money, following which he posted threatening posts on social media using his friend’s photograph. Police are trying to find out whether this case is linked to other incidents of fake bomb threats.

Identification of the accused who gave bomb threat

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Ministry told the parliamentary committee that the accused behind the bomb threat were being identified and further action was being taken. Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vulnam said investigators had gathered information and action was being taken.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu condemned these “mischievous and illegal” actions and said, “Such activities are a matter of grave concern and we will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and smooth functioning of the aviation sector. “
