About 10 people have died in an attack in a school located in the city of Orebro, Sweden. Giving information about the incident on Tuesday, the police said that the attackers may also join the killed people and still other potential victims are being searched in the school premises. However, local media reports are saying that the suspected attacker shot himself, but the police have not officially confirmed it.
Orebro police chief Roberto Ed Forest told in the press conference that the intention behind the attack is being ascertained at the moment. He said, ‘Today about 10 people have died, but we cannot tell more accurate numbers. The suspected attacker was unknown to the police.
The police have not yet made the identity or age of the dead public, nor has it been clarified whether they were students or teachers.
Heavy police force deployed in the area
The attack took place at Campus Risburgka Secondary School in Orebro city, located about 200 km west of the capital Stockholm. It is a large teaching complex, where many schools for children and adults are located. After this incident, rescue teams and security forces campaigned on a large scale.
Sweden’s Justice Minister Gunnar Stromer said that the police is executing this operation with full seriously. He said, ‘The government is in constant touch with the police and keeping a close watch on the situation.’
