Surprisingly, Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag said he has no interest in watching the T20 World Cup.

The Indian cricket squad, under Rohit Sharma, is preparing for their first game against Ireland on June 5 as the T20 World Cup 2024 gets underway with the USA vs Canada match. The success of the team is much anticipated by cricket fans around India, but Rajasthan Royals player Riyan Parag has a different opinion.

Speaking candidly with The Bharat Army, Parag said he would have been more worried if he had been competing in the competition this year. “To be very honest, I don’t really want to watch the World Cup, therefore it will be a biassed response (prediction on top four teams). I’ll just be pleased to watch who wins in the end. I will think about top four and all of that when I play the World Cup,” Parag said.

An outstanding Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign raised hopes that Parag would be selected for the T20 World Cup team. He performed well, although neither he was named among the reserves nor included in the 15-man squad.

Being well-known for his audacious remarks on social media and interviews, Parag has frequently been in the center of conversations. Though criticized, he is still sure of his future with the Indian national team. “At some point, you’ll have to take me, right?,” Parag said in a recent interview with PTI. I therefore think that I will represent India. When truly doesn’t matter to me.
