New Delhi. On Saturday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took major action against Congress MLA from Mahendragarh, Haryana, Rao Dan Singh, in a money laundering case related to bank-loan fraud. During the raid, the ED found so much cash from the Congress MLA’s premises that even the investigating agencies got tired of counting it. In fact, during the raid on the MLA, his son and some business premises, the ED team found Rs 1.42 crore in cash. It is alleged that when he was asked about this, he could not tell anything clearly. Not only this, the ED is claiming to have seized documents related to more than 30 ‘undeclared’ flats and land from the places related to the MLA and his family.

The raids were launched on Thursday in Delhi, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Mahendragarh in Haryana and Gurugram against the MLA, his family, a related company ‘Suncity Projects Private Limited’, ‘Allied Strips Limited’ (ASL) and its promoters Mohinder Agarwal, Gaurav Agarwal and some others. ASL company manufactures cold roll steel products.

The ED said in a statement that during the raid operation, cash worth Rs 1.42 crore, 32 undeclared flats and land, various lockers, documents of trusts etc. were seized from several premises of the group’s units and individuals. The units raided also include the units of Rao Dan Singh’s son Akshat Singh. However, it did not say what exactly was seized from where.
