Three big things in Pannu’s threat
1. Targeting the Prime Minister and other leaders
In her statement, Pannu accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of being instigators by calling them “Hindu terrorists”. Along with this, he described the Hindutva ideology as “violent” and called for its uprooting from Ayodhya. This statement is an attempt to create communal tension and instigate the Sikh community. Which is being used by SFJ to support Khalistan movement.
2. Call to close the airport
Pannu announced through video the plan to close Amritsar and Chandigarh airports on November 17. This step has been taken with the aim of disrupting the economic and social structure of Punjab. SFJ has linked this movement to the Khalistan referendum and called it a path to “freedom” of the Sikh community. Such actions are posing a serious challenge to the security agencies.
3. Reference to killing of migrants and inciting communalism
Pannu referred to the recent killing of Sikh youth allegedly at the hands of migrants, linking it to “Hindu terrorism”. They used this incident to increase communal hatred and instigate people. This type of rhetoric poses a serious threat to the peace and community harmony of Punjab.
Threatened to close the airport 8 days ago also.
Had already threatened to keep the airport closed
This threat of keeping Amritsar-Chandigarh closed on 17th November was given by Khalistani terrorist Pannu 8 days ago also. Then Pannu had made the video viral against the order to Sikh personnel not to wear kirpan in the airport. In which Pannu had said – Government of India may also ban Dastar (turban) in the coming days. After this, the Indian government can stop Sikhs from wearing their religious symbols even at home. Pannu has tried to instigate the youth of Punjab, and in anger has talked about closing Amritsar and Chandigarh airports on 17th November.
Pannu declared terrorist in 2020
In 2019, the Government of India banned Pannu’s organization SFJ under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act i.e. UAPA on charges of carrying out terrorist activities. The Home Ministry had said in its notification that under the guise of referendum for Sikhs, SFJ is supporting separatism and extremist ideology in Punjab.
In the year 2020, Pannu was accused of promoting separatism and encouraging Punjabi Sikh youth to take up arms. After this, on July 1, 2020, the Central Government declared Pannu a terrorist under UAPA. In 2020, the government banned more than 40 web pages and YouTube channels related to SFJ.
Around 12 cases against Pannu, makes inflammatory statements on social media
There are 12 cases registered against SFJ and Pannu in India. These also include 3 cases of treason in Punjab. The dossier prepared by Punjab Police contained information about various separatist posts on social media by SFJ over several years. In these he used to support terrorists.
Pannu is very active on social media. He releases audio and video messages in Punjabi language. In this he instigates Punjabi youth against India. Not only this, by luring money, he has also got Khalistani flag installed in government buildings in Punjab-Haryana.
Apart from this, Khalistani slogans written on the metro station in Delhi during the recent G20 meeting were also written at the behest of Pannu. Pannu takes the youth under her influence through social media and then instigates them against India.
