Yash Raj Films placed bets on ‘Hum Tum’

In this conversation, Kunal said that ‘Hum Tum’ was a big bet for Yash Raj Films. I had only directed only one film ‘Mujhe Dosti Karge’, which did not work even after being a big starcast. Kunal said that Yash Chopra gave him a budget of Rs 7.5 crore to make this film and Aditya Chopra. While giving the budget, he said, ‘If you want to make it, then make it, otherwise do not make it.

Let me tell you that this film not only proved to be a blockbuster but became a career -changing film for ‘Hum Tum’ Saif Ali Khan. Earlier, Saif did not do any solo hit in his career. Apart from this, it became the sixth highest grossing film that year. Apart from box office success, the film won many awards.
