PM Modi US Visit: Modi-Modi will again resonate in America, preparations are underway to welcome the Prime Minister


Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on Saturday morning on a 3-day visit to America. Strong preparations are going on to welcome PM Modi in America. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum located in Long Island, New York is being prepared for the ‘Modi and US’ program. Around 14,000 people are expected to attend this big and explosive migrant program to be held on Sunday to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Organizers say that ‘Modi and US’ is a celebration of Indian culture spreading across the world along with India and America. “A cultural ethos that sees the world as one family, sees diversity as a strength, and respects all people and the planet,” event organizer Jagdish Sehwani told CNN-News18 while giving an exclusive peek inside the venue. ‘Considers the well-being of others as an inspiration to work together to create a better world.’

What kind of preparations are there to welcome PM Modi?
A total of 13,200 people will represent the religious, linguistic and cultural diversity of India in this program. Along with this, more than 500 Welcome Partners, 500 artists, 350 volunteers, more than 150 media professionals, more than 85 media outlets and representatives of more than 40 American states will participate in it. Another key organizer Suhag Shukla says that ‘Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition’ will be showcased in this program.

Shukla told CNN-News18, ‘Modi and US will present cultural programs on two stages – the main stage and the outer stage. There will be a cultural program named Echoes of India – A Journey Through Art and Tradition on the main stage, in which 382 nationally and internationally renowned artists will participate. These include Grammy Award nominee Chandrika Tandon, Star Voice of India winner and superstar Aishwarya Majumdar, Instagram’s dancing dad Ricky Pond and Rex D’Souza, who will provide a seamless experience of India’s cultural diversity.

117 artists will showcase their art on the outer stage, who will entertain the attendees as soon as they enter the Coliseum. More than 30 classical, folk, modern and fusion performances will pay tribute to the rich and diverse cultures of India.

Dominance of Indians in America
The number of Indian immigrants in America is more than 51 lakh, of which 70 percent have a bachelor’s degree or higher. This is much higher than the US national average of 36 percent. Despite constituting only 1.5 percent of America’s total population, people of Indian origin contribute 5-6 percent to American taxes.

Here, more than 150 Americans of Indian origin are posted on senior posts in government agencies. Indian-American families contributed more than $1.5 billion to American philanthropy in 2023. Here, Indian films earned more than $340 million in North America from 2015 to 2023, with 96 films crossing the $1 million mark.
