Patna. The Bihar Cabinet meeting was concluded under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in which the government has given its consent to a total of 27 proposals. The government has approved the Bihar Film Promotion Policy 2024. This will give impetus to film production work in the state. Under this, 25 percent grant will be given in films up to Rs 4 crore. Provided that 75 percent of the shooting should be done in Bihar. The main objective of this decision is to develop Bihar as an important center of film production, apart from getting recognition at the national and international level to the amazingly beautiful historical and enchanting tourist places of the state.
The Cabinet decision aims to promote the ancient cultural heritage and rich traditions of the State through the medium of film and to encourage the production of excellent films in the regional languages of the State, develop infrastructure and employment opportunities for film production, promote film shootings, attract and encourage private investment in the sector, besides simplifying the process of granting permission for film shooting in the State.
Under the Bihar Film Promotion Policy 2024, the amount of grant given for the promotion and publicity of the film industry and related business and employment will be given by the government in the form of a grant from Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation Limited Patna. Under this policy, the filmmaker will be given various types of financial assistance by the government if the official filming of films is done in Hindi and regional language in the state of the state.
The government will provide an amount of Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore as grant which is the highest in the whole country. This assistance will be given for the production of all types of films like feature films, documentaries, TV serials. Under this policy, a single window system will be created in Bihar state to make the process of production grant payment smooth and transparent. Under this, a Film Facilitation Cell will be formed in which big names associated with the film industry will be included.
Bihar Film Promotion Policy 2024 has been approved by the Council of Ministers to promote employment in the film industry and related business in the state, to provide new employment opportunities for the youth, to encourage the display and promotion of the invaluable heritage culture and philosophical places of the state and to simplify the process of permission for film shooting.
Apart from this, the Council of Ministers has approved other important agendas. Web Media Rules 2021 were amended in Bihar. It will be implemented from the notified date. Residential houses will be built for judges in Gardanibagh. The cabinet has approved the construction of houses. A total of 81 posts have been created for the international cricket stadium being built in Rajgir, Nalanda. 301 posts have been created in the Bihar State Sports Authority.
A new scheme has been started for infrastructure development in the cities of Bihar. CM Samagra Shahri Vikas Yojana will improve the condition of urban areas. Web Media Rules 2021 were amended in Bihar. Registration of BH series vehicles in Bihar will be for 14 years. Registration will be available for 14 years on payment of a lump sum amount.
Tender has been made mandatory for Panchayat work. No work will be done in Panchayat without tender. The powers of Mukhiya and Ward Member have been taken away. Bihar Government has made Panchayat Nirman Karma Manual which has been approved by Nitish Cabinet. At the same time, 205 acres of land has been approved to make Vikramshila University a Central University.
