Malaysia Airlines flight MH370: The search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be started once again after 10 years. MH 370 had flown to Beijing on March 8, 2014 carrying hundreds of people but then suddenly disappeared. This mysterious incident had stunned the entire world. Now the Malaysian government has made a deal with American marine robotics firm Ocean Infinity under which this search will be conducted again.
Deal worth around Rs 560 crore…
Ocean Infinity will search for it using the latest technology in a new area of 15,000 square kilometers under a ‘no find, no fee’ deal. It is believed that now this mission will be successful and the wait of years will end. The government has approved the agreement in principle. According to the deal, the company will receive $70 million only if ‘significant debris’ is discovered. This deal is to be finalized in early 2025. The investigation will be done in the time frame from January to April.
What happened with Mch 370 that day?
That day also, this plane was going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and there were 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board. When it was about to enter Vietnamese airspace, the plane suddenly changed direction and all contact was lost. All 239 people on board disappeared along with the plane. It was assumed that everyone died. Despite extensive searches, no trace of the plane was found except for a few pieces that washed up on an island in the Indian Ocean.
Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Locke said in a press conference, our responsibility and commitment is towards the next of kin of the passengers. We hope that this time everything will be positive, the debris will be found and the families will get relief. (With inputs from Firstpost and BBC)
