The name of an Indian-origin citizen Rinson Jose (37 years) has come to light in the Pager blast in Lebanon. In media reports, Rinson, a resident of Kerala, is being described as the owner of Bulgaria-based company Norta Global Limited.
Some reports claim that Norta Global helped sell pagers to Hezbollah. According to a Reuters report, it is still not known who carried out the pager attack in Lebanon, but clues have been found in Taiwan, Hungary and Bulgaria.
There were pager explosions in Lebanon on 17 September. 12 people were killed and about 3000 people were injured in this. Initially it was claimed that a Taiwanese company Gold Apollo made these pagers. But Gold Apollo flatly denied making these pagers.
On September 17, 3000 pagers exploded in Lebanon within an hour. Hezbollah accused Israel of carrying out these blasts.
Taiwanese company denies making pagers Gold Apollo said that even though the pager bears the name of their company, it must have been made by a Hungarian company called BAC Consulting. Gold Apollo said that it has a contract with BAC Consulting. This company is headquartered in the capital Budapest.
Subsequently, Hungarian media reports claimed that BAC Consulting was only a mediator in this transaction. BAC Consulting does not operate, it does not even have an office.
BAC Consulting CEO Cristiana Barsoni said BAC Consulting KFT worked with Gold Apollo but denied making the pager.
Cristiana Barsoni said she was merely acting as a link in the pager supply case.
Bulgaria gives clean chit to Rinson Jose Hungarian media reports claim that the actual work was done by Bulgaria’s Norta Global Ltd. According to CBS News, Norta Global Ltd was created in April 2022.
Norta Global is owned by Rinson Jose, who is a Norwegian. Reuters tried to contact BAC Consulting owner Rinson Jose via email but has not yet received a response.
Bulgaria’s national security agency told Reuters on Thursday it was investigating a company over the pager incident. It did not disclose which company it was. However, a day later it gave a clean chit to Rinson Jose.
The security agency said no shipments passed through the country that would have approved Rinson Jose and his Norta Global.
Rinson had gone to Norway to study, missing since the attack According to Kerala media website Manorama, Rinsan is a resident of Wayanad district of Kerala. After completing his MBA, he went to Norway for further studies and last visited his home in 2013. However, some media reports have also claimed that he visited his village in November last year. He used to run a consulting firm in Norway.
Reports quoting sources say that Rinsan has fled to the US and Norta Global Limited may be an Israeli shell company. Rinsan has disappeared since the pager attack. Rinsan’s family, who live in Wayanad, say they have no news about this.
According to the report, the police have visited Rinsan’s parents several times at their home but have not yet officially questioned them. Rinsan’s father Jose Moothedam worked as a tailor in Mananthavady village in Wayanad, he is known as ‘Tailor Jose’ in the area.
Rinsan’s father told police officials that his son used to call him every day but he has not called him for the past few days. He called him on Friday but could not get through. He said that he is worried about his son’s well-being.
