“Record-Breaking Advance Sales for Kalki 2898 AD Ahead of Highly Anticipated Release”
With just one day left before its big release, Kalki 2898 AD is already making waves with its record-breaking advance ticket sales. The film, featuring leading stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, has become the first Indian movie of the year to sell over 1 million tickets for its opening day, grossing over 37 crores in pre-sales business in India and overseas.
The Nag Ashwin directorial is expected to reach the 50 crores mark from advance sales alone, with over 13 lakh tickets already sold in the country, accumulating a gross of over 37.2 crores. The Telugu market is leading the charge, having sold over 11 lakh tickets for the first day, earning a gross of over 31.5 crores.
Not limited to India, Kalki 2898 AD is also enjoying strong advance sales overseas, projected to collect over 60 crores gross internationally. If the film reaches the 200 crores mark, it will only be behind RRR, released in 2022, in recording such an opening.
The movie, set in a post-apocalyptic backdrop of ancient Indian Hindu mythology and a dystopian society, promises a unique blend of mythology and futuristic elements, chronicling the arrival of the enigmatic figure of Kalki, the 10th and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. The narrative spans millennia, from the events of the Mahabharata in the year 3021 BC to the end of Kali Yuga in 2898 AD.
With a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, Kalki 2898 AD is generating significant buzz, being hailed as India’s most expensive film. Produced by the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, the film boasts impressive visuals and a compelling storyline, earning praise for its unique concept and ambitious production. The film is all set for release on the 27th of June and has sparked immense excitement among fans and critics alike, as it promises to deliver a cinematic experience unlike anything seen before in Indian cinema.”
