But despite this, after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru, his last rites were performed as per Hindu customs.

Hindu customs adopted for this reason

But he told that Indira Gandhi did not want this. But some religious leaders and politicians had put pressure on him to do so. He said that the people of India would not like secular funeral.
