Javed Akhtar on Married Life: Veteran writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar talked about marriage with actor Shabana Azmi. Javed Akhtar said that he does not give much importance to the institution of marriage. He said that the concept of marriage is so old that it is like a stone which has been rolled from the mountains for centuries. Javed also said that marriage is a useless job and he is hardly married.
What did Javed Akhtar say about marriage?
In an interview, when Javed Akhtar was asked what effect his relationship with Shabana had on him. On this he said- Shabana and I are more friends than a married couple. He said that in his view the secret of a successful marriage is when partners are friends. Javed said- For him the concept of marriage is irrelevant.
He said that in any relationship, for two people, irrespective of gender, to live happily together, mutual respect, consideration and personal space is necessary.
Javed Akhtar’s married life
Let us tell you that this is Javed’s second marriage with Shabana. Earlier he was married to Honey Irani. But this marriage did not last long and they got divorced. Javed and Honey have two children Farhan and Zoya Akhtar. Both Farhan and Zoya are active in the film industry. Zoya Akhtar is a director and Farhan Akhtar is an actor-director.
After Honey, Javed married Shabana. They married in 1984. Both are very happy in this married life. Both share a strong bond and are very good friends of each other.
