Agency, Mumbai (IND vs NZ Test Series). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team for the home Test series against New Zealand. No major changes have been made in the team which won the Test series against Bangladesh 2-0.

Mohammed Shami has not got a place in the team this time also. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav has been included in the reserves along with fast bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna have also been included in the reserve players.

Will Jasprit Bumrah captain the first two tests against Australia?

  • The fast bowler’s name is trending after Jasprit Bumrah was announced as the vice-captain. It is believed that Bumrah can captain against Australia.
  • There is talk that Rohit Sharma will not be available in the first two tests against Australia. Then the responsibility of captaincy will be of Jasprit Bumrah.
  • Declaring Bumrah as vice-captain is part of this plan of BCCI. There was no vice-captain in the team against Bangladesh.

IND vs NZ Test Series Schedule

The first match of the three-Test series between India and New Zealand will be held on October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. At the same time, the second match will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association ground in Pune from 24 to 28 October.

For the third Test, both the teams will reach Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where the match will be played from 1 to 5 November. After this match the Kiwi team will leave for home. The Indian team will start preparing to leave for Australia tour.

The New Zealand team had also played a 3-Test series in its last tour. Then the first Test (Kanpur) was a draw, while India won the remaining two Test matches (Ahmedabad and Mumbai) and won the series 2-0.
