IPL Season 17 Update: Assessing Top Teams, Playoff Scenarios, and Player Form

54 league matches have been played so far in IPL Season 17. In the current season in IPL, KKR and Rajasthan Royals are two such teams which are occupying the top two positions in the points table.

In the race to play playoffs, Delhi Capitals can prove to be a hidden gem. First of all, the chances of Delhi Capitals playing the playoffs seem to be the best because in the points table of IPL 2024, even though Delhi Capitals have 10 points with five wins in 11 matches, still, if we look at the remaining matches of Delhi Capitals, looking at their outstanding matches, Delhi Capitals seem to have the strongest chances of playing playoffs.

Delhi Capitals will be seen playing against Rajasthan Royals at their home ground on 7th May, while on 12th May they will have to play against RCB in Bengaluru. On May 14, Delhi Capitals once again have to play against Lucknow Super Giants on their home ground in Delhi itself.

On the other hand, the condition of LSG is also similar; the bowlers of Lucknow are not able to bear the pressure in this season. In the current net run rate, Delhi is still behind than Chennai. Now let’s look at IPL’s points table; it is KKR which now has 16 points in 11 matches. If they win only one match out of its remaining, then they will qualify. CSK has three matches left and out of these three, they will have to win two matches, whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad will have a chance to qualify for the playoffs if they win two out of four matches. Delhi Capitals will still have the hope of qualifying for the playoffs with a better net run rate.
