Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US in June 2023, the Defense Procurement Council approved the purchase of 31 drones. This deal was announced in America during the tour. The statement was released after the meeting of PM Modi and US President Biden. The statement said that the MQ-9b high alltude long endaurants drone will be assembled in India itself.

It included 161 embedded global positioning and interchangeable navigation system (EGI), 35 L3 Rio Grande Communications Intelligence Sensor Suit, 170 AGM-114R Helphier Missiles, 16 M369 Helphier Captive Air Training Missiles, 310 GBU-39B/B Laser Small Dimitter bombs and 8 GBU-39 B/B LSDB guided test vehicle is also included live fuse.
