New DelhiThis is called hitting home, this is called defeating the opponent, this is called the rebellion of the bowlers, on the ground of Johannesburg, first the batsmen broke the morale of South Africa and after that the bowlers broke the back of the host team.
Everyone was expecting some courage from South Africa, who came out to chase the huge score in the fourth ODI, but the Proteas team became like a wet cat in front of the Indian bowlers. Sometimes facing the swing and sometimes the lack of spin continued to trouble South Africa throughout the series.
Couldn’t play twenty overs twice
How sharp Indian bowling was can be gauged from the fact that in the 4-match series, South Africa could not play the full quota of overs in two matches. In Durban, the host team was able to bat 17.5 overs and in Johannesburg the team was able to bat 18.2 overs. In the entire series, African batsmen were able to play a total of 451 balls and lost 34 wickets during this period. Whereas the Indian team played 480 balls in every match i.e. 480 balls in the series and lost a total of 21 wickets.
King of Swing and Chakraborty’s Chakri
There was a different match winner for the Indian team on every ground. For every pitch and situation, the Indian bowlers had a different puzzle for which the bowlers had no solution. In the first match, Varun and Ravi Bishnoi took 3 wickets each, while in the second T20, despite the defeat, Varun’s five wickets were more talked about. In the third and fourth matches, Arshdeep Singh showed that the first 6 overs of T20 and after How should one bowl 4 overs? That is why the maximum wickets in the four-match series were in the names of Varun Chakraborty and Arshdeep Singh. Varun took 12 wickets and Arshdeep took 8 wickets. Although T20 is considered a batsman’s game, Hardik along with Varun Chakraborty, Arshdeep, Akshar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi also showed in this series that the match can be won only by taking wickets, no matter what the format.
