Bureau, Cuttack. The ODI series is going to start between India and England from 6 February. After playing the first match in Nagpur, both teams will turn to Cuttack, where the second match will be played on Sunday, February 9 at Barabati Stadium.
Online sale of tickets started on Wednesday for Cuttack ODI. A large number of fans had gathered outside the stadium since night. The situation became uncontrollable as soon as the window opened in the morning. The police used force on the crowd.
A stampede caused a stampede due to light lathicharge and water canon. Many fans fainted. Many other people also fell ill.
Some people fainted in the stampede. People who came to buy tickets have alleged that such a situation has arisen due to the negligence of the administration.
ODI match being held after 6 years
- Security has been tightened in and around Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha before the Indo-England cricket match on Sunday. A high -level meeting was also held on Tuesday to review the preparations for the match.
- Officials of the District Administration, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Odisha Olympic Association, Police and Health Department and CMC attended the meeting to finalize the arrangements.
- The District Health Department will also deploy ambulances and medical teams for emergency response on the match, while Food Safety Officers will monitor the cleanliness standards at the stalls.
- Superstars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen here on the field after five years. The two last played at this place in 2019, when India fought the West Indies in ODIs.
- This is the first ODI of ODI Cuttack against England in about 6 years. The last T20 match here was against South Africa in 2022. Therefore, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the fans.
